Adelaide Sherry is a Singaporean/Australian filmmaker. Her films generally comprise of surreal/avant-garde elements, which gel together to create an impressionistic narrative. She is currently in post-production on her first feature, as well as multiple short films.
Recurring themes of her work center around liminal and disappearing spaces under the threat of redevelopment in urban Singapore. By filming these spaces, she casts her lens beyond mere documentary by capturing the magic and memory of each location, drawing attention to the parts of our landscape that would otherwise vanish without a trace.
Her previous short film, Seance of the Past, made its world premiere at the Singapore International Film Festival in 2022, and has since made its way around the likes of the CinemAsia Film Festival in the Netherlands, and Queer East in the UK.
